Jesus Christ. I thought I've seen some bad cakes on the cake wrecks blog, but this is the mother load. Observe exhibit a:

You better believe that I emailed cake wrecks with this picture! It looks like it was a practice cake for a very inexperienced cake decorator. Better yet, it looks like every goth twi-hard's fantasy cake. It's not exactly the best quality photo, but it's hard to get a good picture with one of the so called bakers/decorators lingering within your periphery. I know I shouldn't expect much from the Wal-Mart bakery, but if you expect people to buy this, at least make it a little more apealing. This cake may very well have turned me off of cake for life.

I knew we were walking into a terror zone the moment I saw those happy father's day mini cakes with the terrible color schemes. There was one that wasn't even frosted evenly. Then there were trays of cupcakes that were obvioulsy dumped around; the cakes itself were tilted in the tray and the icing smeared. The cakes with sprinkles only had sprinkles on one side of the cake, or maybe 5 tops. The ice cream cakes in the freezer were no better. They looked like they've been sitting out in the sun for an hour, and then quickly placed back in the freezer. An M&M Carvel cake had some mad freezer burn on it. The entire cake section looked so revolting. Joyce picked up a red velvet cake that looked like it was about to crumble apart. Now that i think about it, the red "powder" on the sides looked like crusty old cake that they reused to sprinkle along the sides.

Speaking of sprinkling, there was another cake that was "decorated" with purple sugar crystals and possibly some gray concoction. It looked like one of those sand things; you fill the plastic container with colored sand. Only when you shake it up it looks gray. That's what the cake looked like. Yummy. There were maybe one or two cakes that actually looked presentable, but I have a sneaking suspiction that someone from Wal-Mart didn't decorate it.
